Standard Specifications:

• Doors are available in single-speed side slide, two-speed side slide, and center-opening configurations.
• #4 stainless steel or laminate finish.
• Accommodates GAL operators.
• Aluminum sills.
• Cab fronts incorporate 13” wide x 84” high MEI Swing COP.
• Transom, jambs, return filler, and Swing COP have #4 Stainless Steel finish.

Also Available:

• Two-speed center-opening door configuration.
• Various door widths and heights.
• 5SM Rimex stainless steel finish on transom, jambs, and return filler.
• Nickel silver or stainless steel sills.
• Auxiliary COP design.

Wall Choices

Standard Specifications (Laminate Wall):

• Laminate finish adhered to fire-rated wallboard (see MEI standard laminate chart for color choices).
• A wide selection of laminates is available, including solid colors, wood grains, and patterns.
• #4 stainless steel tube handrail (½” x 1 ½”) is located on the rear wall for a cab with front openings and on both sides for a cab with front and rear openings.
• Vents are located near the base of the side walls.

Standard Specifications (Steel Wall):

• Wall panels are made of 16 gauge reinforced steel.
• A wide choice of enamel colors is available. Stainless steel #4 finish is also available.
• #4 stainless steel tube handrail (½” x 1 ½”) is located on the rear wall for a cab with front openings and on both sides for a cab with front and rear openings.
• Vents are located near the base of the side walls.

Standard Specifications (Steel Wall with Raised Panels):

• Steel reveal shell is constructed of 16 gauge formed steel. Standard finish is flat black. Stainless #4 reveal shell is also available.
• Raised panels are comprised of fire-rated wallboard faced with laminate and edged with black PVC. The panels are attached from the outside of the shell with screws. Removable panels (attached with clip design) are available upon request.
• A wide selection of laminates is available, including solid colors, wood grains, and patterns.
• #4 stainless steel tube handrail (½” x 1 ½”) is located on the rear wall for a cab with front openings and on both sides for a cab with front and rear openings.
• Vents are located above and below the side wall panels.

Ceiling Choices

Standard Specifications (Drop Ceiling):

• 14 GA reinforced steel canopy with combination single-speed/two-speed fan and emergency exit panel. Electrical contact switch in emergency exit.
• Fluorescent lights above aluminum T-bar with lexan diffusers.
• Fluorescent lights above aluminum T-bar with aluminum eggcrate diffusers.
• High- or low-voltage downlights with decorative trim.
• Laminate, #4 stainless steel, or #8 stainless steel finishes are available with downlights.

Standard Specifications (Lights in Canopy):

• 14 GA reinforced steel canopy with combination single-speed/two-speed fan and emergency exit panel. Electrical contact switch in emergency exit.
• Enamel finish (optional #4 stainless steel finish).
• Recessed fluorescent lights (optional 110V AC downlights).

• Man-D-Tec AA or OE blower.

• 5-pin lock in emergency exit (seismic).

Swing Car Station

As a standard, each MEI cab includes a Swing COP. Although this design is not a true swing return, it allows mechanics the same convenient access to the rear of the panel. Full swing returns and applied COP arrangements are available upon request.
The MEI Swing COP design includes removable flush-mounted plates for the Capacity/No Smoking signs and the Phase II Fire Instructions. This feature makes wording changes convenient and inexpensive.
